Our motto as Coalition is that we are “Inclusively Embracing, Collaboratively Learning, and Compassionately Understanding.”
We know as a Coalition that systems work to get the results they currently get. When those results include vast unfair differences based on race, then we know that racism lives in the system at some level. As a Coalition, we are committed to doing things differently so that we can get different outcomes, ones that are better for all Milwaukeeans. Check out these resources on racial equity to learn more and also check out below how we do things differently:
We lift up the most important experts in the room: the parents and caregivers that have experience with children living with mental health challenges, or "lived experience."
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The sooner that babies, children and their families get the support they need, the sooner their brain development can get back to balance.
There are trusted relationships in the community that are already established, and we seek to build upon those. When it comes to health and wellness, that starts with community health workers.
Relationships are everything. We want people to know one another and be known. We put intentional focus on how our processes and outcomes reflect our values.
