The City of Milwaukee is a crossroads of stories: the coolest Midwest city and the worst city for black people to live. Milwaukee is rich in history, identity, talent, and other assets. Resources are not shared equally across this city of neighborhoods and the stories do not often reflect the voices of the people in our neighborhoods. It is our role to connect Milwaukee's many strengths and to lift up the voices of our neighbors. We love our City of Milwaukee; we celebrate its victories and our hearts break for its losses. As the phrase goes, “it takes a village to raise a healthy child.” Milwaukee is our village and we have the responsibility to make it better.
